Thank you for blessing me today. Twice in one day, man that is awesome! Absolutely love "Claim This City." The intro. song is super too; however, "Claim This City" is my favorite. It makes my heart smile gleefully. Did you write the lyrics? Awesome!!!!! Am listening to "Honesty," simply beautiful beyond words. You have been blessed with an extraordinary & remarkable voice. It commands undivided attention in a most delightful way.
"Walk With You" has given me a focus this evening. I have been toiling since Saturday for what I needed most. What is it I need to do? Reading His word & trying to meditate on Them is non-sufficient; I needed to imagine walking with Him in a beautiful garden & carrying on a simple conversation, feeling His presence, & His love; that's what I needed to do. I get it now!!!!!
What Do You Say, I'm Gonna Walk Like You, Brand New Things To Be, etc., your music accomplishes all that it is intended to; it ministers to my spirit, my soul, & it gives me tremendous focus.
Thank you! Thank you! & Thank you!

Sean, I was at your April 9th concert and I was blown away by your performance as well as the other entertainers. I go to First Baptist Garland and have always attended the traditional service (member of the sanctuary choir). I loved your performance and walked away wishing the concert had been longer. You have been gifted with such a beautiful , talented voice. I'm thankful for you and your ministry to our Contemporary service. God is using you in such a wonderful way and I thank the Lord that you have chosen the life you have. I look forward to seeing you in more concerts. I plan to take my family this summer when we can all get together. May God continue to bless your ministry.

Hi Sean: OK, this is the 2nd time I'm typing this-don't think it went thru the 1st time. I was in audience at Granbury Live on last Sat 9/4/10. The show was tremendous! I especially enjoyed your performance and talked w/you after show. I was the "Patsy Cline Impersonator/Singer" and gave you my bus. card to give to your Sr. ministry at FBC -Garland. I thought later how exhausted you must be after impersonating so many (all just great), singing your heart out and all those costume changes. I know how tired I am after 1 hr of performing, but then you are YOUNGER than I. My congrats to the whole cast! Would love to hear the C&W program and hear Dallas do my gal, Patsy. God Bless Linda Freeland

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

So on we go
His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to bear
We'll get there
For I know
He would not encumber me

If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of love for one another.

It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share
And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Hi Sean & Kishla,
Haven't talked to you all or seen you in a long time so I just wanted to tell you that I miss you and I miss hearing you sing except for the Dairy Queen commercials..
Kishla I have moved to Poolville Cut Off Rd with my son and his wife so I need to get with you and get another copy of the first cd Sean did.
My daughter wanted to borrow mine and now I can't seem to get it back.
I hope that your all doing great.
I thought a bunch of us were going to get together and get to Granbury to see and hear you but seems like everyone is busy doing their own things for the summer.
I miss you and would love to see you. I thought you were going to be seen in the Dairy Queen commercials after the first of this year. I was disappointed that it hasn't happened.
Love ya

Sean,

My family and I watched you at Granbury Live yesterday afternoon (6/20) and were very impressed, not only with yourself, but with the entire production. It was great to see a family-oriented program with such a diverse audience. My son and daughter came out of their shell and were up on stage for the "Twist" and were completely unprovoked by my wife and I. It was a joyous day and a great memory for Father's Day weekend. Thanks again. We'll be back.

I KNEW IT! IT KNEW IT! IT KNEW IT! I KNEW you were a Christian brother of mine!!!!

Hi Sean! I was in the audience at Granbury Live on Saturday night (3/7/09) with the LOUD group of Christian Singles from Midland, Texas. I'm not single, but I normally go to those conferences to help out as part of the worship team during our times of praise and worship. I had an idea you were one of "us" when you got so tickled at my friend, Cheryl, for shouting out, "AMEN!" at one point in the show as you were speaking. hahaha~~~

Anyhow, today was the first time I've had a chance to look around on your webiste and I am so thankful I did. Looks like you give so much of your gifts and talents to projects that illuminate Christ in this old dark world. Thank you for that, Sean. Please know I will be praying that God will pour out blessings on you as you bless others with the voice He gave you. You have quite a wonderful gift!!

Thanks for a fun evening on Saturday. We had a ball.

Blessings,

ONE BORN TO DIE......

Hustle and bustle of what to buy
While tears flow down, many homeless eyes

Warm Thanksgiving’s came and went
As a few more pennies, were scraped and spent

Countless hours, we laugh and play
While the mothers, of dying children pray

When will self, fade from our eyes
I’m asking me, as I now write

Vanity flows from lips of ignorance
When we need to be speaking of Love and Repentance

And so, we celebrate, those things contrived
And exchange the truth of one born to die

Surrounded myself, by gifts to come
I know there’s more that should be done

So as I read these words I’ve lived
Convictions flow, from deep within

Where is Jesus, in all of this
As we sing our songs, and give our gifts

More and more things, it seems we need
To harvest all of these selfish seeds

Will all of these words, simply go away
When tomorrow, you start a brand new day

Or will you stop, and try to give
To those in need, struggling to live

To know the truth, and do nothing at all
Is heartless and cold, and discards the call

Of one born to die, that rose to live
No ordinary man, but a life-giving friend

If Jesus were here in your home today
Would you celebrate Santa with his reindeer and sleigh

Or would you walk by his side
And follow him down

To the poor and the hurting
In the “wrong” parts of town

Christmas is coming, and so many have needs
Will Jesus pick you

Please listen and see

right when my family got into the car after the show at granbury live we immediately popped in your cd "a different kind of worship" and i sat in the back seat, with my eyes closed and listened, really listened (as i was told to do so). it's true what you said to me. it's deep and autobiographical. i have been a christ-follower for many years. righ now it seems i am as far away from christ, as if i never knew him. part of me thinks "i'll fix it tomorrow." and the other is consumed with more and more guilt everyday. i loved the songs honesty and cover me. i wanted to cry. it's exactly what i'm going through. "cover me with the only thing thing that matters. cover me as i'm on my knees. i need you, jesus. i give you everything inside me. so i an see you, truly. oh cover me."

thank you so much for letting god use you. tonight is exactly what i needed. you told me be blessed before i left. but my friend, may you be blessed just as much. keep doing what you are doing, you're changing peoples lives.

G'day Sean, Kishla & Brayton - We enjoyed the fabulous performances of your son, Brayton, and yourself in the spectacular Granbury Live Concert "A Lone Star Christmas". The recital of your poem called "Unborn Cry", which you dedicated to countless millions of aborted children across the world..., was simply amazing and inspirational, and the standing ovation that you received was very well deserved. It really touched our hearts and the hearts of many others as well. All the very best with the dedication you and your family give to such meaningful causes.
Meeting you & your family after the show was a real highlight for us. You guys are the best and we cherish the wonderful friendship we have made with you over the past six months. Thank you for coming into our lives.

Lots of Love always,

Hello Sean - We met at the Granbury Live Show Saturday night, I'm from Oregon, and we talked about your Unborn Cry CD, thank you so much for your heart to share this message. wow - God is on the move!! I have a poem I would like to share with your from a mommy who went through a post abortion bible study I was a part of leading in California a few years back, the poem is titled "Please Say My Name". When I read and listened to you CD that poem came to my mind immediately. What would be the best way to send it to you. I do have permission from the mom to share it but I think I would want to hook her up directly - it has not been copyrighted yet...it is a powerful poem that is an incredible compliment to yours....the two poems walk people through a journey....oh, and another thought, the next time you are in Portland please let me know, there are two cable access shows that would love to have you on their shows - I know the producers and they are very pro-life. Also, I spoke of Silent No More Awareness when we met, just go to www.silentnomoreawareness.org Ok, so that's all for now, I am so excited to see where God takes all of this. God Bless You - Deborah Tilden

He makes a statement in the book that we could all benefit from......so that's why I share it with you today......

"A bird's not defined by being grounded but by his ability to fly."

I challenge you today to simply fly.....

Try that one thing that you have not tried yet that has been buried somewhere long ago, deep in your heart......don't spend time examining why you can't......spend time doing it instead......even if you ultimately fail.....you will succeed in trying.

So once again.....fly today.....you'll be glad you did!!

Sean,
I am really sorry that we missed you guys at the music store. We planned on going but so much has gone on.
I don't think that you were at Bro.Sam's funeral or at least I didn't see you and in case you didn' I wanted to tell you how beautiful it was.
I don't think that I have ever known a couple like Sam and Gloria in my life and how they complimented each other.
It was such a beautiful and naturally sad time but Sam was honored well.
Bro.John said he felt perfectly comfortable standing down there with Sam looking down on him (the screens) because he had been watching him from the balcony for years and probably thinking you little pipsqueek I can do a better job than that. It was so funny.
I may not have it exactly right but it is very close.
Anyway there were so many people there and he was and still is so loved.
We love you and hope to see you guys soon.
Love & God Bless

Sean Mitchell / Word of the Day

September 1, 2008

If anyone were to ask me, what I feel is the greatest human need, I could
list a ton of things that would cover everyone on the planet......the
greatest spiritual need could be stated as "An underlying need to know
their Creator".....but if I narrowed them down and really paid attention
to what the underlying detail might be in all of them, on a day to day
"earthly" basis.....I'm convinced that it would be, "the need to feel
relevant".

As Webster's New World Dictionary defines it......being relevant "implies
close logical relationship with, and importance to the matter under
consideration".

Let's think about that for a minute......"the matter under consideration"
that I believe, effects people the most is what happens in their everyday
life.
You've surely heard the phrase...."Life is good".....is it?.....Your
answer might be very different from someone who is homeless or lying in a
hospital bed that is terminally ill or surrounded by death and disease,
due to the tragedy of war or genocide? What about the ones that have never
been able to utter those words and really mean it?

Have we ever really deeply considered why people that are enduring tragedy
can seem truly happy.....truly hopeful....truly in love with life?

If we haven't, let's stop right now......today.....and do so.

Just a quick examination of why people feel barren enough to commit
suicide gives us an initial answer........relevancy. Remember the
definition?
Words like importance & relationship? I believe that when people feel
abandoned, uninvolved in others lives, lonely, discarded, taken advantage
of, mistreated, abused, neglected and helpless that there is a deeper
reason why they either stop living or find themselves one day in a dreary
existence that they have substituted for life.

How does it happen? I believe there are a multitude of reasons.....the
first and primary reason being a lack of love and existence of good
parents and then it goes into a downward spiral from there......but what
about the ones that DO have loving parents that were present and full of
love and encouragement that still feel helpless......what's missing?

The answer I believe is "Spiritual Relevance"......unless we engage the
issue on the spiritual level where it really exist, we only scratch the
surface. Being relevant is important......but does it really transcend
into the spirit realm? The answer is a definite YES.....!
Noah's relevancy in the physical that transcended into the spirit realm
was so key that it saved the human race from being totally destroyed.
It mattered the most in the life of the most "written about" man that has
ever lived......Jesus.
His relevancy to the lives of the people around Him created a revolution
that changed the course of the entire planet. But how did he do it? How
did he seem to "get through" to so many? The answer is by engaging people
"where they were", one at a time.

Jesus always demonstrated a "larger spiritual" reality in everything that
He did.....but isn't it interesting that He always started small.....with
us.....the ones in need.

You and I will always have this need......but we're not Jesus or Noah, so
what is the answer that matters for us.....today?

I am reading a book right now by one of my favorite contemporary
authors.....Don Miller......it's called "To Own A Dragon....reflections on
growing up without a father". I have really been able to identify with his
personal experience. So, when I got to page 32 and read the last sentence
on the page......it all came together for me.
He simply said that for him, growing up....."Life was a confusing series
of emotions, rubbing against events.
Wow!!!! That is exactly how I felt growing up.....not feeling very
relevant at times.

The cool thing that the Holy Spirit has shown me, is this.....if we will
see the importance of helping those around us with our limited
knowledge.....limited gifts and callings ( as we often feel ).....and
realize that the key for life is to influence the people around us, one at
a time......then we will begin to see the beauty of how God works within
simple relationships and how much He really does love us "one to
one".....if we could all grasp this concept, we would pay more attention
to our families instead of our careers......and we would also pay more
attention to the homeless and hurting instead of the latest Christian "get
all you can from God" teachings.

I promise you this.....the more you get up and get something done on a
small scale to help those around you, the more you will become spiritually
relevant and the less you will feel "alone and wandering". Your life will
become full instead of empty and you will be led by hope instead of
hopelessness. How do I know? I've lived it......a lot. Just like a lot of
others around me have.

I recently received an e-mail from a friend that I had lost touch with for
20 years......I had often shared with him how much he needed the
Lord.....how much I wanted him to "stick with it".....how special he was
to God.....and many other things that I knew he needed to know. But, who
was I kidding? We were just teenagers! How deep could it really go?
Apparently pretty deep.....in his email he told me things that I never
knew......things like....my words and actions towards him, being a turning
point for him in his life back then and numerous times over the years that
he has tried to find me and times that he has shared our stories with his
family. He came by today to see me before I sat down to write this
article......He introduced me to his wife that I already knew as his
"girlfriend way back when"....and he also introduced his three beautiful
children to me and my family.....they are a family today because he chose
to be relevant to people around him......and now, once again, we will have
an opportunity to be relevant to each other.

My final word of encouragement to you is this....

Find your most important relationship in Jesus.....it's not as hard as you
might think.....ask Him to help you influence people around you for His
Glory.....act on your prayers.....follow through with the tools that He's
given you.

I believe that you will begin to see your place in this world as it is
revealed to you by Him.....then you will see that you truly are relevant
and you will begin to really live.

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
'Til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry
I'm right up the road
I'll share your load
If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'd understand
We all need somebody to lean on

Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on

Lean on me...
